David

David James set up Sassafras in 1999 after 6 years developing innovative ways to explore the relationships between brands and consumers at the Cato Consulting Group, where he worked with a broad variety of international clients. He was and is a popular conference speaker.

Previously, he had worked as a Costume Designer in New York and Los Angeles and as the Stylist for over 600 TV adverts and print campaigns.

He is also an essayist and dramatist with commissions from BBC Radio. He performed stand-up on the London comedy circuit for several years, led writers Eworkshops at the Soho Theatre, and taught at the Parsons School of Design in New York . Currently Chair of the Theatre Committee for the Writers EGuild of Great Britain, he consults regularly with Arts Council England and the All-Party Parliamentary Committee on Theatre.

He graduated with honours from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a major in Art and Design and a minor in Theatre, and did graduate study in Art History.

Django

Django the Pooch is well known to all Sassafras clients and networks regularly with the Clerkenwell media crowd. His Anglo-Japanese background broadens the international perspective of Sassafras. Always enthusiastic about interviewing potential consumers on his way to and from the studio, he enjoys sniffing out new trends and chewing over concepts.
